With four wins on the spin, Lloyd Sabin could not have asked for a better start to his captaincy at White Post Road.

Banbury are the early leaders in the Home Counties Premier Cricket League and Sabin will be looking to extend their winning run against Tring Park in Saturday’s division one fixture.

Tring Park are a dangerous side and we won’t take them lightly

But Sabin will be warning against complacency ahead of Saturday’s game at White Post Road.

He said: “Tring Park are a dangerous side and we won’t take them lightly. They won their opening two games comfortably and I’m sure Saturday’s heavy defeat against Finchampstead was a one-off because they’ve signed some good players.

“We said before the season started that we would not be looking at the end result and that’s still the same, we have to keep giving 100 per cent in each game.

Hugo Darby could miss Saturday’s game against Tring Park but Ed Phillips resumed training last week and Ashley Blanchard is due to return to training this week while Tom Bradbeer made his comeback from injury in the second XI in the Cherwell League at the weekend.

Looking back on Saturday’s success, Sabin added: “Hugo Darby and Craig Haupt did a great job for us. Craig is only one game away from a big score, he’s got 20, 30 and 40 but he’s looking really good at the top of the order.

“It’s great to have him back after his injury and his experience has been a great help.

“If Hugo isn’t available we’ve got several options. Me or Kurtis Patterson could open or it might give Will Hawtin the opportunity as he’s not had the chance to bat much at six so far.”
