Banbury are through to the next round of the ECB National T20 Cup without a ball being bowled.

They received a walkover from Cove who could not raise a side for today’s (Monday) first round tie at White Post Road where Banbury would have gone into the game on the back of Saturday’s pre-season success at Great Tew.

New signing Tim Paine completed a century on his Banbury debut at Ledwell Road where Luke Ryan’s side won by nine wickets. Paine hit 116 runs off just 70 balls while another new addition Hugo Darby hit an unbeaten half-century.

Today’s game is a 2pm start at White Post Road where another new signing Tom Bartlett completed a consecutive century in only his second game for Banbury II in Saturday’s comfortable victory against Great Tew II.

The former Hook Norton batsman retired on 152 runs, taking him past the 300 mark before the league campaign has even started.
