Great & Little Tew captain Andy Harris says Saturday’s trip to Reading is a game his side cannot afford to lose.

The Home Counties Premier Cricket League new boys head to Reading on the back of last weekend’s division one draw against Henley.

We can’t control anything Reading do other than this weekend

Captain Andy Harris

Harris said: “We’ve got to make sure we carry on from last weekend’s performance against Henley.

“We performed like I know we can against Henley and showed what we are capable of. The players knew they had to step up their game, especially after the display the previous week.

“We were solid at the top of the order with Harry Smith and Jordan Garrett giving us a solid base. Harry has done really well since we moved him back up the order.

“He was happy to drop down earlier in the season but with Matt Clarke taking a break it gave him the opportunity to move back up.”

Reading closed the gap on Tew following their shock victory over champions High Wycombe.

But Harris said: “We can’t control anything Reading do other than this weekend.

“We comfortably beat Reading earlier in the season. But it’s a game we need to take as many points from as possible and not one we can afford to lose.”
