Great & Little Tew picked up 25 vital Home Counties Premier Cricket League points as they returned from Harefield with a victory.
Jordan Garret and Dain Moreton led the way as captain Andy Harris saw his side win by six wickets in Saturday’s division one fixture at the basement boys.
Harefield elected to bat and made a steady start with Jalpesh Vijay 42 and Daniel Ogden 66 taking them on to 155-3. But, after Scott Friend hit 45 runs, wickets started to fall before 219-6 Dhavalkumar Norotam 20 and George Shiel 36 put Harefield back on track as they took the hosts on to 219-6.
Harefield reached a decent 251-9 in their 64 overs while the returning Ian Bryan took 4-79 and Liam Manley picked up 2-45.
In reply, the visitors reached 48 before they lost Harry Smith but Garrett, who hit 77 runs which included ten fours and four sixes, and Moreton put together a crucial stand of 96 runs for the second wicket.
Moreton and Curtly Slatter came together and the pair pushed the score along to 234-4 before the New Zealander departed, having made 87 runs off just 95 balls which included 12 fours. That put the visitors in sight of victory which Slatter 50 and Ashley Hubbert sealed in the 43rd over despite Douglas King picking up 3-63.
