New signing Kurtis Patterson came to the crease and he and Darby took the score on to 136-2. Patterson made 36 runs on his debut while Darby stayed around till the end of the innings and helped Banbury to 234-6 in their 50 overs with Luke Ryan adding 18 runs.
In reply, Harefield’s top order all made useful contributions as they reached 114-3 before the wickets began to fall. Oliver Richards 57 kept Harefield in contention and a late flurry from Scott Thomas 27 gave them renewed hope but they could only reach 199-8 at the close.
