Champions Westbury fell to a five wicket defeat at Cropredy in their final Cherwell Cricket League fixture.

The champions were dismissed for 153 runs in Saturdays division two fixture, Sam Harper hitting 53 and William Gurney 30 as James Coleman took 3-45.

Ed Somerton then struck 83 to steer Cropredy home in the 39th over.

Aston Rowant II’s comprehensive 118 run win at Sandford St Martin could not prevent them finishing in the third relegation spot.

Thad Cooper 92 and Will Hammersley 60 helped Rowant to 282-6 in their 50 overs. Sandford then fell for 164 as Alex Chapman took 3-43.

Cumnor avoided the drop in division one by beating hosts Banbury II by 67 runs.

Michael Race fell just two runs short of a century, while Harry Ackland hit 57 and Joe Dale 55 as Cumnor racked up 296-6 in their 50 overs. Jack Lambden then hit 76 and Bradley Taylor 30 in Banbury’s reply but they were bowled out for 229 as Samuel Cross took 3-34.

Minster Lovell clinched the second promotion spot in division three as they defeated already-relegated Great & Little Tew II by eight wickets.

Minster inserted their visitors and bowled them out for 166, Sam Barnes hitting 66, Archie Spittles taking 3-28 and Elliott Crowther 3-32. In reply, Minster cruised to 167-2 with more than 24 overs to spare as Elliot Graham hit 68no and Spittles 48.

Horley wrapped up their campaign with a 136 run win at Banbury III.

Jonathan Hart hit 94no and Nick Tarrant 62 in Horley’s 298-6 and then Savi Sangha took 3-56 as Banbury fell for 162 with Andrew Pallett 34 and Imran Mohammed 31 top scoring.

Brackley beat Shipton-under-Wychwood II by 102 runs in division four.

Adam Wirth hit 102 and Josh Rowland 72 in Brackley’s 236 all out, Dee Jarvis taking 4-21 and Anthony Prior-Wandesforde 4-39. Shipton then slumped to 134 all out in reply, Paul Hemming finishing 49no as Rowland took 3-26 and Joshua Markham 3-26.
