Banbury Central continued their winning run in the West Oxon Ladies Bowls League, beating against Woodstock 73-31.

Top scorers for Central were Carole Galletly with Pam Shepherd, Bev McNeil and Melody Sykes 25-7.

Mo Cox with Annie Gilkes, Sue Waring and Myra Lewis won 20-11 while Caroline Campion with Helen Young, Ann Norton and Gill Hunt won 28-13.

Banbury Central progressed to the next round of the EWBA Top Club competition, winning 80-55 at Shiplake.

Pam Shepherd convincingly won her singles 22-6 while Mo Cox with Eloise Jones won the pairs 24-16.

Annie Gilkes with Sue Waring and Gill Hunt lost the triples 12-18 but Anne Norton with June Bone, Jane Williams and Melody Sykes won the fours 22-15.

Adderbury lost 122-67 against Witney Mills in Sunday’s club fixture.

John Radley with Paul Jelfs, Steve Goodenough and John Hermon won 15-14 but Cliff Hall with Hilda Zimmer, Roy Dickson and Chris Holmes lost 14-18.

Phil Gladden’s rink of Ray Smith, Gordon Sumner, Mick Jelfs went down 22-27 while Chris Skidmore with Tony Collett, Pete Goodson and Pete Griffin were beaten 12-25. Malcolm Wigram with Les Smith, Bill Dowling and Graham Tyrrell slipped to a 4-38 defeat.

Bloxham lost 78-62 at Hanborough.

Alan Miles with Ray Sopp, Annie Roy-Barker and Rob Kearvell won 21-10, while Brian Smith with Ros Sopp, Des Jones and John Stephens won 20-13.

Dave Morse with Hilary Thomas, Doug Woodward and Sue Miles lost 20-25 on the last end after leading for most of the game. But Ray Hopkins, Linda Morse, John Nolan and Bob Ottway won 17-14.

Banbury Chestnuts beat Stratford-upon-Avon 86-66.

Alan Wase with Brian Stonebridge and Richard Cox won 28-10 while Eric Hilton with Tony Heath and Dave Ward won 19-9.

Sandra Wase with Jo Gibson and Pat Noonan drew 15-15. But Brian Ray with John Herrington and Dawn Hewitt lost 13-14 while Martyn Cooper with Richard Morris and Pat Ray lost 11-18.
