Bulls ready for final charge to the crown

The long-time Midlands Two West South leaders entertain Pinley in their penultimate game of the campaign and head coach James Kerr is looking for his side to rediscover their form after a couple of indifferent displays.

Kerr said: “We have not been at our best in the last two league games following the Oxon Knockout Cup final and we need to get back to that on Saturday.

“We were poor in the first half at Malvern and it was the same at Nuneaton before we got going in the second half only to let them back in it late on.

“Pinley will come here trying to upset us so we’ve got to make sure we have the same focus, intensity and consistency that has served us so well this season. We have to treat it as though it’s the first game of the season.

“It would be great to clinch the title at Bodicote Park but we just need to play our rugby for 80 minutes and not think about anything else.”

Manu Paniagua is the latest player to join the injury list at Bodicote Park.

With skipper Ed Phillips and the influential Matt Goode already sidelined, the strength of the squad is, according to Kerr, the reason his side are within sight of the title.

He added: “We’ve had the potential to win the league for the last couple of seasons but the difference this time is 100 per cent down to our strength in depth.

“No player on Saturday will not have been without first team experience this season.”
