Brooker and Padbury turn it around

Banbury West End A beat Woodstock B 8-0 in ladies' division two of the Babolat OLTA League.

First pair Elaine Madle and Denise Shepherd beat the Woodstock first pair 6-3, 7-5 and also beat the second pair 6-1, 6-3.

Second pair Karen Brooker and Andi Padbury beat the Woodstock first pair 7-6, 7-5, having been 5-3 down in both sets, and beat the second pair 6-4, 6-2.

Banbury West End A beat Benson A 6-2 in men’s division four.

First pair Javier de Diego Lee and Robin Woodbridge beat both Benson pairs 6-4, 6-3.

Second pair Mike Robinson and Dean Harris lost to the Benson first pair 2-6, 1-6 but bounced back to beat the second pair 6-2, 6-2.

King’s Sutton A remain ladies’ division four leaders following a convincing 4-0 victory over North Oxford C.

First pair Stephanie Browne and Hilary Stratton needed a tie-break to beat the Oxford first pair but convincingly defeated the second pair in straight sets.

Sutton’s second pair Carrie Hicks and Caro Stacy also had a tight contest against the first pair, claiming victory in a tie-break.

They also beat the second pair in straight sets.
