Banbury bow out of the cup against Kibworth

Banbury went out of the Royal London Cup on Sunday, going down by seven wickets against Kibworth.

Having elected to bat, a young Banbury side were in trouble in the Group 13 second round tie at White Post Road. Banbury slumped to 39-5 before Jamie Coles and Ollie Murray 12 helped them on to 95-6.

Coles made 42 runs off 53 balls, which included six fours, before he departed. Brady Taylor 10 was the only other batsman to make double figures as Banbury were restricted to 146-9.

In reply, openers Sundeep Patel and Matt Craven were soon heading back to the pavilion before Kibworth were reduced to 39-3. But Darren Shaw 24no and Josh Peel 74no saw the visitors to victory in the 31st over.
