You could get paid £1,400 to sleep for 15 days - here's how

If your special skill is napping, one company may have the perfect job for you - all it involves is going to sleep for 15 days in a row.

Interiors specialists Hillarys is conducting research into the impact of light and sound on people's sleep to find out what conditions are best for sleeping - and they're on the look out for paid participants for the cushy role of "sleep executive".

The job involves simply going to sleep every night for 15 days. During the day time, you'd be completely free, and the job doesn't even require you to be a sound sleeper. The only prerequisite is that you allow the company to check how well you sleep.

The successful applicant will be required to sleep at Hillarys offices in Nottingham, and will earn the equivalent of £24,000 pro-rata for the work. Any travel costs you incur on the job will also be covered by the company.

How will it work?

The company will be testing out different "situations" with varying levels of light and sound to see how these conditions affect sleep. This could include blackout curtains, low-level sound and lights on while you sleep.

You'll wear a sleep monitoring device throughout the night to monitor who your body responds to these changes. When you wake up, you'll be asked to fill out a questionnaire on how you slept to give Hillarys an understanding of the effect of each environment.
