Smiths fans are '˜neurotic', Cheryl Cole fans are the '˜least open', study finds

Are you a fan of The Smiths? Well, you're probably neurotic. Do you dig Marilyn Manson's music? Hmmm... you're not very agreeable, are you? If you're fan of Tom Waits or Björk, however, you're likely to be open to new experiences.

That's all according to a 2015 study of Facebook "likes" conducted by Stanford University and Cambridge University's Psychometrics Center, which was recently highlighted by The New York Times in wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal.

The study looked at the interests of Facebook users via pages they “liked”, and answers from a 100-question quiz called myPersonality, which scored a person’s openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism.

Its results also found that Cheryl Cole fans are among the “least open”, Bring Me The Horizon fans are the “least conscientious”, and fans of rap stars Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame are the “most extroverted”.

Nightwish fans, meanwhile, were found to be the “least extroverted”.
