Youngest entrepreneurs walk away with top award

Young entrepreneurs from local schools attended an awards evening at Bloxham School to celebrate their success in the Kärcher Accumulator Challenge in support of Katharine House Hospice.

Each company, school, or college that signed up was given £50 by Karcher and challenged to find interesting ways to turn the money into as much profit as possible.

The total generated for the hospice was an incredible £8,329.75, which Kärcher plans to round up to £10,000.

Overall winners of the Kärcher Accumulator Challenge were Hanwell Fields School, who took on the challenge for the first time last year and were the first team of students under 12 ever to take part.

They organised a bingo night, which included making the posters themselves and baking and selling cakes, raising £201.80.

The Most Creative School winner was Bloxham School, who raised £169.04 from baking and selling cakes and making Christmas cards.

Most Funds Raised By A School was won by Kineton High School, who raised £2,450.96 at their Christmas Craft Fair.

Most Creative Sixth Form/College Entry winner was Banbury and Bicester College L2 Business Group, who raised £772.53 from a five-a-side inter-schools tournament, a sponsored walk and a gaming night.

The college’s L3 Business Group won Most Revenue Generated by a Sixth Form/College, raising £1,911.93 fromevents including a skip-athon and movie night.

Winner of Most Creative Business Entry was Kärcher UK, who had the idea of cooking and providing lunches for staff.

And DHL won Most Funds Generated By A Business, raising £2,277 by holding raffles and staff dress down days.
