Celebration was in the air as Banbury & Bicester College student Christina Welz picked up her trophy from the recent Rotary Club Young Chef competition.

Christina won the Banbury event in January, then went on to win the district competition in February. Last month she took part in the regional final and was runner-up, just a point below the winner, who went on to win the national final.

She went along to a weekly Banbury Rotary Club meeting to receive an engraved trophy and is pictured with club president Phil Cavill, her father Ralf and club press officer Bernard Goodchild. Banbury competitors have a good track record in the competition and it will be back next year.
