Construction of Longford Park School is well underway with classroom doors to open in September.
An executive headteacher, Julie Hiddleston, and deputy, Louise Price, have also been appointed and have taken up their posts.
The school’s steel frame and roofing structures have been completed and the building is now watertight.
The school, on Longford Park Road, will be open for reception and Year One in September and will be opening a nursery in the summer of 2017.
In the future, it is hoped the school will have 315 places from reception through to Year Six.
Mrs Hiddleston said: “I am so delighted to have been given this opportunity to lead Longford Park Primary School and to be involved with the design and development of the curriculum.
“Planning and preparation are underway so that we are ready for September and we will be arranging to meet with the new children during the summer term.
“It is a very exciting feeling to be part of a school before it has even been built and I know the school will be a very special place once it has opened.”
Applications for entry into reception are now open with more information to be found atwww.oxfordshire.gov.uk/cms/content/admissions-primary-infant-and-junior-schools.
