It was a right royal occasion for WI members from a number of institutes when they celebrated their centenary at Buckingham Palace.

HRH The Duchess of Cornwall hosted a special Buckingham Palace garden party, supported by HRH The Countess of Wessex, Princess Alexandra and the Duchess of Gloucester on Tuesday, June 2.

Anne Seckington, Northamptonshire county vice chairman and a member of Brackley WI, Annie Haig, from Holcot WI, and Claire Travella, president of Blakesley WI, were among representatives from across the country attending.

The Duchess of Cornwall met many WI members during the party before taking tea in the Royal Tent.

Anne and Annie were invited to the Diplomatic Tent to meet special guests and ladies in waiting.

Guests enjoyed the bands playing and afternoon tea, as well as exploring the gardens and meeting members of the Yeoman of the Guard.
