The bank holiday weekend looks to have better weather than we have been used to recently, according to the Met Office.

Over Friday and through the long weekend temperatures are expected to rise for Banbury - with some sunshine as well on certain days.

Friday will see temperatures reach 16 degrees Celsius, but there will be cloudy cover for most of the day, but with little chance of rain.

Will we see skies like this over the bank holiday weekend?

On Saturday temperatures are expect to hit 18 degrees Celsius - again there will be clouds but no rain.

Sunday will be generally sunny, with temperatures topping out at 20 degrees Celsius (at around 4pm if you are thinking of planning something outdoors!)

Monday however, will see highs of 21 degrees Celsius, again at around mid-afternoon. There will be slightly more cloud than on Sunday, but not as much as the other days. Thankfully it seems the typical bank holiday rain will hold off.

Expect the sun's strength to rise over the weekend - with the UV index on Monday at around 1pm being hitting 8 out of 10 - so take care in the sun, especially if you've been indoors at home for much of the past five months!
