Banbury’s telephone box library has attracted so much attention there is now a camera trained on it to give people regular updates.
Banbury firm e-swoosh, based just across the road from the telephone box which was set up as a book exchange last summer, has pointed a camera at it so people from around the world can keep updated.
Director Paul Drage said the web cam had received a lot of hits.
He said: “The phone box has been getting a lot of attention nationally and internationally. There have been a lot of tweets from people overseas and up and down the country wanting to see live news on it and we thought, given our location, why haven’t we put a camera up?
“It has had quite a lot of hits and seemingly people are really interested in looking at our phone box.”
He added the web cam, which had received 400 hits, was not on record so it wasn’t CCTV. The company plans to keep the web camera up for a while.

“It will be interesting to see the four seasons of the phone box,” Mr Drage said.
Last week, BT confirmed it was calling time on the library as it felt using the box for both a telephone and books was not the right approach.
