A Banbury charity has had an IT upgrade thanks to a technology specialist who gave his time to support them through a volunteering programme.
Let’s Play Project asked Sanctuary Housing for help when their computer systems started to run slowly.
Spencer Turner, a support technician from Sanctuary Group in Worcester, found the most suitable equipment, software and bandwidth to make it easier for the staff.
Tracey Owen, assistant manager at Let’s Play, said: “Spencer’s knowledge and efficiency really made everything so much easier when it came to upgrading our equipment.
“His time, knowledge and patience were invaluable – we simply do not have this support in house.
“The office now looks incredibly professional - but more importantly we are all networked, compatible and super-efficient.”
Spencer provided a laptop, four widescreen monitors and four PC laptops, all sourced from supplier OCM.
“It’s a nice feeling to have helped such a good cause, especially as they were so grateful for the support. I thoroughly enjoyed helping them,” he said.
