Banbury’s open air pool reopens for one of the hottest days of the year.
The open air swimming pool at the Woodgreen Leisure Centre has reopened after suffering technical problems.
Cherwell District Council spokesman Tom Slingsby said the problem was a fault with the electrical pumps.
A member of the public who lives nearby and swims at the pool frequently said: “I went there this morning for a swim and there is a sign up which says ‘due to unforseen circumstances, the pool is closed’. “I asked the receptionist why it was shut and she said she didn’t know. When I telephoned to ask why I was told it was ‘technical problems’,” said the man, who did not want to be named.
Mr Slingsby said “It’s a fault with the electrical pumps. We have people on site trying to fix it so the pool can reopen as soon as possible.
