Woman suffers life-threatening injuries in M40 refuse lorry crash

A woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after another crash on the M40 in Oxfordshire yesterday (Tuesday, October 16).

A silver Lexus was in collision with a refuse lorry between junction 8 and 8A northbound at around 2.50pm.

A female passenger in the Lexus suffered serious and life-threatening head and facial injuries and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Another passenger in the Lexus and the driver of the car suffered minor injuries and were also taken to hospital.

The driver of the lorry was not injured.

The M40 was closed in both directions to allow the air ambulance to land.

Inspector Scott Long, of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact 101, quoting URN 745 (16/10).

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the collision.
