Both lanes of travel on the Milton Road near Bloxham have been closed due to a burst water main, which happened late last week.

The road was closed one week ago today (Thursday April 8) both ways from Barford Road to Aldous Drive.

Officials had hoped the road would reopen on Monday April 12. But the reopening was delayed.

A Thames Water spokesperson said: "We're really sorry to residents and motorists inconvenienced after a burst on a 14-inch wide water main.

"Our engineers were on the scene within an hour of the incident being reported on Thursday afternoon and had to close the road so they could safely dig down to the affected pipe.

"The repair has been completed.

"We're due to resurface the road tomorrow (Friday) and expect the closure to remain in place until the afternoon."
