A black Harley Davidson motorcycle was in collision with a bus on the A4096 Upper Campsfield Road just off the Bladon roundabout in the direction of the A4260 Banbury Road.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 50-year-old woman from Abingdon, died at the scene.

The woman’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.

Officers are issuing an appeal to anybody who saw the collision to contact 101 with information.

Investigating officer Sergeant Chris Ruff said: “Officers were called to the scene by South Central Ambulance Service this morning following the collision.

“Tragically, a 50-year-old woman died at the scene, and I am appealing for anybody who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage, to call 101, quoting URN 141 (17/9).

"The road remains closed between the A44 and A4260, and there may be some short temporary closures at the Bladon roundabout to allow accident investigation work to continue."
