Expect traffic delays on the A361 outside Banbury due to 'serious' accident

Motorists should expect delays in traffic due to a serious accident on the A361 outside of Banbury late this afternoon (Monday July 20).

A road closure is in place for both directions of travel from Hogg End to the Hare and Hounds Inn on the A361. The closure went into effect around 4pm.

Officers with South Northamptonshire Police posted a warning to motorists on social media this afternoon about the collision.

The road closure is in place due to a collision between Wardington and Chipping Warden.

The Tweet said: "Please be tolerant of road closures following serious incidents. A minor detour in your life will allow police to safely investigate and provide those with the answers they need."

The accident initially saw officers from both Thames Valley Police and Northamptonshire Police respond to the scene.

But the accident is now being managed, and investigated by TVP as it's within their policing area just outside of Chipping Warden.
