The pilot was safely brought down by the fire service and assessed and cleared by our staff at the scene.

A spokesman for SCAS said: "I think the main challenge was for our colleagues from Bicester Fire Station in terms of getting the pilot down. He was still in the cockpit on our arrival at the scene. Once he was safely brought down our team were able to quickly assess him and clear him as uninjured.

Oxfordshire Fire and rescue report crews from Bicester Fire Station, and a specialist rescue crew from Kidlington attended the glider accident.

Called at 14:16 crews worked with SCAS and Thames Valley Police to release the pilot from the precarious position in the trees, using ladders and assisted them into the care of the ambulance service for checking over.
