Tractors prepare to light up the streets of Banburyshire
In just four years the annual event has become an eargerly antcipated as dozens of heavy machinery don their finest Christmas decor raising funds for The Katharine House Hospice.on
The inaugural event in 2016 featured twenty-six tractors which has since steadily grown in numbers each year reaching seventy-nine tractors taking part in 2018 thanks to the continued support from the farming community who travel far and wide to take part.
Jennie Steenkamp, commercial manager and director for RC Baker and the driving force behind the events creation, said: "Last year we reached an all-time high with seventy-nine tractors which was an amazing sight.
"There is already so much excitement surrounding this year’s event on social media so the pressure is on to see if we can top last year’s figures and put on the best festive display for the public."
The event has so far raised over £11,000 in total for Katharine House Hospice thanks to the generosity of the public, support of local businesses such as Banbury Co-operative Funeralcare and help from volunteers.
RC Baker Ltd are encouraging all local farmers and owners of tractors to take part in this year’s tractor run for just £15 per tractor.
