The event continues on Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday noon-4pm, concluding with a Family Carol Service at 4.30pm on Sunday.

The display of 40 trees is sponsored by local organisations, businesses and groups and will be decorated in fun, creative and imaginative ways. Visitors can vote for their favourite tree.

As well as festive refreshments, there will be live musical performances throughout the festival. Entrance is free but donations are welcomed. Proceeds go towards Christians Against Poverty and the work of St Mary’s Church in Adderbury.

A spokesperson for the festival said: "As well as looking at the beautiful trees on display, visitors can explore the church and enjoy some seasonal refreshments and musical entertainment.

"This is the sixth year the festival has run and we are incredibly grateful to our sponsors for their support: Cherwell Scaffolding Services, Chiltern Railways, Co-operative Funeralcare, Edd Frost & Daughters, the Banbury branch of Hamptons, Humphris funerals, Miller Homes, Nicholls and Spratt Endicott solicitors.

"Last year, hundreds of people attended the festival over the three days and it is hoped this year will be the same."
