Slimmer Issi Popplewell has been enjoying a whole new world since she slimmed down to a size eight from a whopping size 26.

Mrs Popplewell, of Bloxham Road, Banbury has been on her husband’s scooter, got a job and even climbed Snowden - and now she is in line for a prestigious slimming award.

Her ten stone weight loss was achieved through 13 months with Slimming World.

“Issi has got through to the Slimming World Woman of the Year semi finals on Sunday. She is one of 50 ladies out of nearly 1,000,000 members and could win a holiday in Dubai or £3,000.

“Issi is truly amazing. Before her weight loss, she hardly ever left the house and was barely able to climb the stairs but now she has climbed Snowden to raise money for a charity very close to her heart.

“At our regional finals, she shared her story of how life used to be and the difference now. She said the weight loss has saved her life and it was the first time she told her story without crying. I was so proud. She is such an inspirational lady and has helped so many other people who believe they too can change their lives. So many people contacted her after her before and after story in the Banbury Guardian and are now on their own weight loss journey. She said she felt like a star with total strangers stopping her in the street to congratulate her.”
