A constant feature in the Banbury Guardian dating back to its years as a broadsheet publication, our weekly Big Picture remains as popular as ever.
An opportunity for you, our readers, to capture the beauty of the area in which we live, we are never short of submissions for the weekly choice of which image to publish.
So, in celebration of this continued section of the paper, the Banbury Guardian team have been busy looking through papers from the past 12 months to bring you our favourite Big Pictures of 2014.
Pictured above is an image published in the January 9 edition submitted by Samuel Redford of Adderbury.
The beautiful sunrise was captured while Samuel was on his morning run along the Oxford Road.
Shown right, and featured in February, was a picture by Dave Woodman of Banbury of a ewe and her lamb at Walton Hall, Wellesbourne. Below left, Banbury Guardian reader Carol Bowen captured the canal at Cropredy at dawn for the September 25 edition, while, below right, there was a real buzz about Tim Wills’ July 17 picture of a ‘hoverfly pitstop’ in his Helmdon garden.
l For this week’s Big Picture, turn back to page 27. To submit your pictures in 2015, email firstname.lastname@example.org with details of where/when the image was taken.
