Enthusiastic runners and team racers are being asked to put their best foot forward to enter this year’s Banbury 15 and two-mile fun run.
The popular event is regarded as a warm up for the London Marathon in April and organisers from the Banbury Harriers Athletics Club want as many people to sign up for this year’s gathering on Sunday, March 22 in Spiceball Park.
As well as the 15-mile race, there will be a shorter two-and-a-half mile course or one-mile fun run, organised in memory of former Banbury Guardian editor Paul Bithell.
Will Knox is a member of Banbury Harriers and one of the organisers of this year’s event. He said:”There was a really good turnout from children in primary schools across Banbury and we would love to see more take part in this year’s run. It is always good to raise funds for a worthy cause so the more the merrier!”
The two-mile and one-mile fun run will set off at 10.40am with the Banbury 15 starting at 10.30am.
There will be refreshments for runners once they have completed their races and proceeds from the event will once again go to Katharine House Hospice. Mr Knox added: “Lots of people go running in Banbury, both young and old, so it would be great to see a good turnout.”
