Banbury’s RSPCA officer Lauren Bailey will appear in an episode of The Dog Rescuers on Channel 5 tomorrow night (Tuesday).

The programme follows some of the RSPCA’s inspectors across the country as they continue their crusade to stop cruelty and neglect to man’s best friend.

In the latest episode Ms Bailey is called to a property in Hertfordshire where 17-year-old terrier Cassie is in a bad way after getting stuck in a hedge in the back garden.

As she is unable to get in, she calls the police for some assitance and manages to get Cassie and take her to the vet.

Dermot Murphy, assistant director inspectorate for the RSPCA. said: “We are delighted to be back to show our dedicated officers working hard in often difficult circumstances to help rescue and save dogs from cruelty and neglect.

“They face heartbreaking situations but deal with them with compassion and dignity to help protect man’s best friends.”

The episode starts at 8pm.
