A tea dance marked the 100th anniversary of the First World War and raised more than £500 for Help the Heroes at the same time.
The Mill Arts Centre held its first charity tea dance, raising £577.12, with performances from five-piece jazz band Hot Club 42. The band recreated the sound of the Forties and there was also swing dancing, a raffle and homemade cakes.
Laura Boffin, event organiser, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed organising this event and hope to be hosting another one again.”
