Talented teenagers from Stagecoach Banbury celebrated the school’s tenth anniversary with a performance of The Wiz, an urbanised retelling of The Wizard of Oz, at Blessed George Napier School.
Three Blessed George Napier pupils – Soraya Irvani, 13 (The Wiz), Jolene Venzi, 15 (The Scarecrow), and Severina Young, 14 (Evillene) – took lead roles in the production, which saw 96 pupils from Stagecoach perform with a live band for the first time.
Audience member, Claire Phillips, said: “The Wiz was wonderful. There was so much talent.”
Principal Melissa Allen said: “The past 10 years have been an incredible journey and we, as a school, have gone from strength to strength and I am really proud of my school and all of the students’ achievements.
“Thank you to everyone for your loyalty and dedication, it is very much appreciated.”
