Humphris Family Funeral Directors organised a special carol service in Banbury for bereaved families in the run up to Christmas.

The service is held annually at the Marlborough Road Chapel for anyone who has lost a family member during the year.

The service was led by Reverend Jean Fletcher with readings from Martin, Chris and Matthew Humphris and funeral director, Richard Smith.

There were carols and organist, David Upton, played The Candle Song (Like a Candle Flame).

Martin Humphris said: “Remembering can be difficult and painful especially at this time of year, but coming together with other families in a similar situation is often helpful.

“Our remembrance tree was placed in the chapel for the service where families were able to leave their own memory card.”

There was a collection in aid of Katherine House Hospice.
