Single car collision on M40 near Banbury

Firefighters from Banbury and Fenny Compton were called to the northbound carriageway of the M40 today (Friday) following a single vehicle collision.

It happened between junctions 11 (Banbury) and 12 (Gaydon) at about 2pm and involved a car which had come off the motorway and gone down an embankment.

The driver was reported trapped and they were released prior to firefighters’ arrival and taken to hospital via air ambulance. Police and ambulance crews were also in attendance and firefighters were on the scene for about 20 minutes.
