Sing like the stars with celebrity coaches

A north Oxfordshire company is hoping its new celebrity e-learning course will help budding singers to reach for the top.

Gravy for the Brain’s latest online course features Pop Idol coaches and Fame Academy/Glee Club judges Carrie and David Grant who know what is needed to get ordinary people onto programmes like The Voice and X Factor.

David said: “We’re beyond passionate ahbout singing and believe everyone can learn to sing.

“We’re really excited about this learn-to-sing vocal coaching course which is called Singing Like the Stars.”

Wife Carrie added: “In the 30 modules of the course we coach areas including breathing and support, finding the placement of your voice, expanding your range and developing a paint-palate of sound to make your voice come alive.”

Carrie and David Grant have worked with names including Take That, The Saturdays, The Spice Girls, Michael Jackson, Charlotte Church, Bette Midler and Diana Ross.

They have won BAFTA and MOBO awards for their services to the music industry.

Gravy for the Brain director Hugh Edwards said: “This 30-module course is led by the two best singing tutors in the world.

“It teaches you how to sing if you’re a complete beginner and vastly improves your singing if you can already sing.

“The course is fully certificated, with downloadable course materials and singing exercises which follow the course exercises, with references for the user to keep.”

David Grant has had some 14 hit singles in the UK charts including the Top 5 duet with Jaki Graham, Could it Be I’m Falling in Love.

David was also nominated for Best Newcomer in the Brit Awards as lead singer of Linx. He is currently a regular presenter on Songs of Praise.

Carrie started as a dancer on TV moved into presenting and session singing where she became one of the country’s top session singers. working with the likes of Diana Ross, Roberta Flack, Rod Stewart, Lighthouse Family, Fat Boy Slim and many others. Carrie currently presents for The One Show, covering most of their music items.
