A life-long farmer celebrated his 90th birthday with his two eldest brothers. Sidney Pile was born in Preston Capes near Daventry on February 9, 1925 and his family then moved to Splashleys Farm in Avon Dassett. Mr Pile then moved near Henley-in-Arden to run his own farm in 1955 before retiring in the mid-1970s. His brothers Norman, 92, and Eric, 94, joined family and friends for a party in Bloxham on February 8. Mr Pile has four sons, Brian, David, Philip and Anthony, and six grandchildren.
His eldest son Brian said: “The day went really well. Dad was in really good spirits and enjoyed spending time with all the family.”
