Samaritans need volunteers

Banbury and District Samaritans are looking for volunteers who can provide emotional support for people in need.

The Samaritans have a 24-hour helpline where volunteers provide non-judgemental, emotional support to anyone going through a tough time. The service is strictly confidential.

Anyone over 18 who would like to know more can go to information sessions this Saturday, November 7, between 10am and noon or December 3, from 7pm to 9pm.

There will be two further sessions in January and February next year, with a view to training starting March.

All these sessions will be held at the Samaritans’ centre at 33 Albert Street, in Banbury.

No special qualifications are needed except empathy.

To learn more, or to book a place call 07473 581379, or email banbury@samaritans.org.
