Roads to close temporarily in Banburyshire villages to allow for repair works

Temporary road closures will be in place in King’s Sutton and Aynho later this month as work starts on much needed repairs.

Northamptonshire County Council’s Highways Department is undertaking repair works on Charlton Road in Aynho from Monday, July 13 to Tuesday, July 21.

The 499 bus will stop on Portway for Aynho then turn right and follow the normal route between 9.30am and 3.30pm for the duration of the works.

Repairs works will also take place on the B4100 through the village from Wednesday, July 22 to Friday, July 22.

In King’s Sutton, repairs will be taking place on Banbury Lane and Bull’s Lane from July 27 to July 31. The 499 bus stops at Cannings Garage will not be served between 9.30am and 3.30pm for the duration of the works.

And Upper Astrop Road will be closed between Orchard Way and Astrop Road between August 3 and August 5 while repairs are carried out.

Peak time traffic, including 499 bus journeys, will not be affected by the repair works, and the King’s Sutton/Banbury Shopper bus will still run on Thursday, July 30 as usual but there will be no pick-up or set-down on Banbury Lane.
