Residents and volunteers from Banbury Community Action Group lent a helping hand last Sunday to plant a total of 56 fruit trees at the Browning Road Park in Banbury.
Town mayor Sean Woodcock also joined in the planting. He said: “I am very proud to be planting trees with Banbury CAG. I admire the group’s dynamism in putting this project together for the long term benefit of the people of Banbury. They are doing a fantastic job for Banbury in all sorts of ways.”
Banbury CAG also celebrated its first year as a community group with a Christmas party at The Mill Arts Centre on December 4. The event was also the group’s AGM and there was a presentation on community energy.
