Chipping Norton’s wool shop, The Fibreworks, celebrated Worldwide Knit in Public Day by inviting men to come along and learn to knit.
About 15 men responded to the challenge, picking up needles and yarn and exploring the intricacies of knit and purl.
Members of The Fibreworks’ knit groups were on hand to help and had baked cakes to sustain the necessary levels of concentration.
More than £100 was raised in aid of Male Cancer Awareness Campaign.
Co-owner of The Fibreworks, Lesley Wildman, said: “It was a terrific event and it was fascinating to see how much the men enjoyed the experience, relaxing as they grew in confidence with the knitting and with conversation flowing freely.”
