Children at Bishop Carpenter Primary School in North Newington have given a knitted blanket to residents at Banbury Heights Nursing Home in Old Parr Road.

It was created by children and staff at the school’s knitting club, who had been working on the project since September and a presentation was made to the home on Tuesday.

Janine Coaker, class teacher said: “We had a really warm welcome from the home and all the residents were waving at the children, they were thrilled with the blankets.

“The children can have a real sense of achievement and can say that one of the squares they created is on the finished piece. Being involved in the community is something the school prides itself on.”
