The book, entitled Forging Ahead, tracks the history of the oldest continually running dry dock on the inland waterways from the beginnings of the Oxford Canal to plans for the future.

Matt said: “It is exciting to see the book completed. It was very well received and I was really pleased by the positive comments.

He added: “It was great to see so many people turn out for the launch on such a wet day.”

Published by Windlass Publishing the book took two years for Matt to finish, features 140 pages, 133 photographs – some very rare – and interviews with people who have met the Tooleys.

The book is available from the boatyard for £11.
