Police officers injured after disorder in Chipping Norton

A woman and two Thames Valley Police officers were taken to hospital after an incident of disorder in Chipping Norton on Saturday.

Between 9.50pm and 10pm, police were called to the town centre where the woman was taken to Banbury Horton’s General Hospital, with one officer sustaining hand injuries and the other sustained head injuries.

All three people have since been discharged.

Two 19-year-old men and a 51-year-old man from Oxfordshire were arrested in connection with this incident.

The 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly in a public place, using threatening / abusive words / behaviour or disorderly behaviour, assaulting a constable in the execution of his / her duty. He has been bailed until 8 March.

The other 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly in a public place and assaulting a constable in the execution of his/her duty. He has been bailed until 8 March.

The 51–year-old was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a constable in the execution of his/her duty and has been bailed until 13 February.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident.
