Police officer admits to computer misuse and data protection charges

A Thames Valley Police officer has admitted to three counts of computer misuse and two counts of breaching the Data Protection Act.

PC Matthew Oaten, 30, of Goodwood Close, Bicester, who is currently suspended from duties in Banbury for Thames Valley Police, today, Wednesday, pleaded guilty to the charges at a hearing at Winchester Crown Court.

The offences, some of which are alleged to have taken place while PC Oaten was on duty, happened between February 2013 and May 2015.

Oaten is due to be sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on Monday, June 13.
