Police arrest man after sexual assault at M40 services

A 21-year-old man from West Yorkshire has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault at Cherwell Services on the M40.

The incident happened at around 3pm on Sunday August, 23 in which the victim, a 10-year-old boy, was in the toilets at the service station at junction ten when he was touched over his clothing by a man.

Following the appeal, West Yorkshire Police arrested the 21-year-old man from Wetherby last Thursday on the authority of Thames Valley Police in connection with the sexual assault. He has been released on police bail until November 9.

Designated Investigator James Guinivan from Local CID based at Banbury Police Station said: “We would like to thank the media for helping with our appeal, and I would also like to thank our fellow officers at West Yorkshire Police for their assistance.
