Police appeal to dog walker after an assault in Banbury's Spiceball Park

An argument between a group of men and a group of boys leaves a teenager in hospital.

The incident happened on Wednesday, November 9 at around 4pm in Spiceball Park in Banbury.

During an altercation between a group of boys and men a 16-year-old received facial injuries and was taken to the Horton Hospital.

The injured youth has since been discharged from hospital.

Investigating officer Det Sgt Mark Personius, based at Banbury Force CID, said: “We are appealing, in particular, to trace a woman who was walking her dog through Spiceball Park at the time of this incident and who came to the aid of the victim.

“We believe she may seen something and have information that might help our investigation.

“We would also appeal to anyone who has any information regarding the incident should get in touch via the Thames Valley enquiry centre on 101.

“If you do not want to speak to the police directly you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.”
