Plane crash victim is named

Police and Accident Investigation attend the aftermath of a fatal light aircraft crash in a farmers field near Padbury PNL-140821-124633009

Muhammad Naviede, aged 60, from Regents Park in London, was confirmed dead at the scene of the crash on Wednesday night.

The inquest into his death was opened and adjourned today, Friday.

Police were called to reports of a plane in difficulty at about 7.40pm on Wednesday night.

The plane came down in a field off the the A413, at Hedges Farm, just north of Padbury.

Police officers were at the scene until 4pm on Thursday, and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is investigating.

The plane is believed to have taken off from Turweston Aerodrome.

A Lenborough resident, who did not want to be identified, said there had been reports of a distress signal from a light aircraft earlier in the evening.

Two land ambulances and an air ambulance were sent to the incident.

Fire crews from Buckingham and Winslow attended the scene, along with a specialist 4x4 Unimog unit from Great Holm, and a specialist Urban Search and Rescue team from Aylesbury were put on standby at Winslow Fire Station.
