Piggy banks auctioned off to help popular charity near Banbury
A bank in Banbury has come up with a great idea to raise funds for Katharine House Hospice.
TSB on the High Street got a collection of piggy banks and after asking patients at the Adderbury-based hospice to paint them, they auctioned them off to their customers and raised more than £220 for the charity.
Gareth Nicholls, branch manager, said: “It is a lovely idea and our customers have loved it – some have been brought to tears when we told them who painted it.
“It is a bit of therapy for patients and at the same time we are helping to support the hospice’s work.”
