Woman suffers 'potentially' serious injuries in Banbury collision over weekend

The South Central Ambulance Service responded to a 999 call around 5.40pm on Saturday July 18, which reported a car had left the carriageway at the Hennef Way Roundabout on the A422, and rolled into a ditch, trapping the woman driving inside the vehicle.

Two ambulances, a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle, along with support from colleagues at the Midlands Air Ambulance responded to the incident.

Firefighters with the Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service rescued the trapped woman from an overturned vehicle using specialist hydraulic rescue equipment. Two fire engines attended from Banbury Fire Station.

The driver of the vehicle was then taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by ambulance for treatment to 'potentially' serious injuries.

Thames Valley Police officers also responded to the collision.
